Indoor P4 basketball gym center-hung LED display for US arena project
This LED display is specially designed for indoor basketball arenas. Four LED screens are seamlessly spliced together and suspended from the ceiling to form a funnel-shaped cube structure. It provides a 360-degree display of real-time scores, live video feeds, and game information to spectators throughout the venue, enhancing the overall viewing experience and creating a more immersive atmosphere for basketball games.

Technical deep dive: engineering & selection FAQ

Q1: Why was a P4 (4mm) pixel pitch selected for this basketball arena?
Choosing the right pixel pitch is a balance between viewing distance, visual clarity, and budget optimization. For this stadium project, P4 was selected for three primary reasons:
a. Optimal viewing distance: The closest spectators (courtside seats) are approximately 3 to 4 meters away from the lowest screen element, while the upper bowl sits much further back. A 4mm pitch ensures a sharp, seamless image without visible pixelation from the closest vantage point.
b. Text readability: Stadium displays must show dense information, including player statistics, jersey numbers, and sponsor fonts. P3 provides the necessary pixel density to keep small text perfectly legible from across the court.
Q2: How is the basketball gym center-hung LED billboard maintained?
Maintenance is one of the biggest operational concerns for stadium management. Due to the high altitude of the installation seen, we abandoned the traditional rear-maintenance method and adopted a convenient front-maintenance design. During operation, key components such as LED modules, power supplies, receiving cards, and HUB boards can all be serviced and replaced from the front, making maintenance faster, safer, and more efficient.
Q3. Can the brightness of the LED display be adjusted?
Yes. We use an intelligent brightness control system that automatically adjusts the brightness level between pre-game presentations (low-light conditions) and live matches (fully illuminated venues). This helps protect spectators’ eyesight while also extending the lifespan of the LEDs.

Q4: What structural safety measures were taken for this US arena installation?
Suspended directly over live athletes and thousands of fans, structural integrity was paramount.Precision Die-Cast Aluminum Cabinets: Instead of traditional steel, the framework utilizes lightweight, high-strength aluminum alloy to significantly reduce the overall deadweight load on the stadium’s roof trusses.Vibration and Impact Resistance: Basketball environments experience continuous vibrations from music, crowds, and structural movement. The cabinet connections feature locking alignment pins and heavy-duty safety cables to ensure the multi-tiered structure remains completely stable over years of continuous operation.
